Lentil stew with smoked
broth (from the Turkey) – 1 litre, medium size carrots – 3 pieces, spices, peas – 1/3 Cup lentils – 1 Cup pepper – to taste, medium onion – 1 PC., greens, potatoes of medium size – 4-5 PCs. salt – to taste smoked ribs – 2 PCs.
Step 1

In a boiling broth, add the peas and cook them until almost cooked (I used split peas, it does not require soaking and fall apart quickly).

Step 2

Washed, peeled and chopped potatoes added to peas are almost ready.

Step 3

When potatoes are almost cooked, add the lentils (lentils I used also chopped).

Step 4

In a frying pan in oil fry onions and optionally sprinkle it with thyme.

Step 5

Once the onions become transparent, add the pre-grated carrots.

Step 6

Ready to "cook up" add to the soup, stir.

Step 7

With the ribs and remove meat, add to soup and cook for another 5 minutes. Turn off the stove, cover the pan with a lid and leaving for 10 minutes to simmer, serve topped with greens.
